The first wave of DC Universe Classics is up for preorder at a few select online retailers. In case you’re out of the loop - this is the first series of figures to be released by Mattel under their recently-acquired license of the full DC Universe. So, no more all-Batman and all-Superman waves!

The first series includes regular figures ‘Classic Batman’, ‘Etrigan’, ‘Red Tornado’, ‘Orion’, and ‘The Penguin’. And, of course, buying all five gets you the super-fab build-a-figure of ‘Metamorpho’. (See and read lots more about them here.)

If you’re not into skulking about Wal-Mart toy aisles trying to luck upon Mattel’s ‘questionably distributed’ product, then put your mind at ease with an online preorder. You can get a good price on a case of the first series at either Enchanted Toy Chest or Corner Store Comics. (These figs are tentatively scheduled to hit shelves some time around December.)
