DCUC Fan’s Choice Polls at Fwoosh

dcucofp.gifIn yet another display of their collector-friendly superiority (and just general awesomeness all-around), Mattel has conscripted the good folks at The Fwoosh to run a few fan’s choice polls to gauge which DC Comics characters are most sought after by fans in superarticulated action figure form.

This line hasn’t actually hit shelves yet, but it already seems like Mattel is really doing everything right. They’ve got the sculpting team of the 4 Horsemen taking care of the product, they’ve stated that they’re committed to improving distribution and case-packs, they’ve included a build-a-figure (collect & connect!), they’ve shown us the packaging re-design, and they’ve really been making the extra effort to maintain constant and direct communication with fans and collectors to make sure they’re providing exactly what we want. THIS is how a toy manufacturer should go about conceiving of and promoting a line!

Get over to The Fwoosh and cast your vote for which sexy DC lady, evil DC villain, or quirky B-list character you most want to see included in the DC Universe Classics line!

DCUC Packaging Revealed

DC Universe Classics Packaging ImageSuperhero Times got the inside look at the what the all-new “eye-popping” packaging for the upcoming DC Universe Classics series from Mattel will look like when the Metamorpho build-a-figure (now “collect & connect”, evidently) series hits store shelves early next year. Check out the pics at Superhero Times! I rather like it. The new packaging does a great job of showing off the figure while still having a nice ‘comic book’ feel to it. Good work, Mattel!

Mattel Q&A at Kastor’s Korner

mattel1.gif Our friend Kastor over at Kastor’s Korner has posted a nice little Question & Answers session with Mattel’s brand manager for the DC Universe Classics line. Mattel’s DC Toy Guru makes some promising declarations about the upcoming line - reaffirming its focus on the collector market and stating that *gasp* case mixes and release dates will be much more structured than what we’ve seen so far in the DC Superheroes line. Hurray! Read the entire Q&A here.

DCUC Wave 3 Revealed

mattel.gifGranted, we’re probably a full year away from seeing this wave hit retail, but Mattel has announced the line-up for the third series of its highly anticipated DC Universe Classics line. The lucky characters to get done up superarticulated style by the four horsemen are Nightwing, Robin (Tim Drake), Sinestro, Deathstroke, and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan. w00t!). And rounding out the series is Solomon Grundy as the BAF. This line just keeps getting better and better! There are no pics yet, but rest assured, you’ll find them here as soon as they’re available. HML FF4 and SM3 Waves Opened Pics

mnfflegendswavethumb.jpg MarvelousNews.com has updated their database with nice, crisp pics of the opened figures from Hasbro’s new Marvel Legends series’ - the Fantastic Four wave and the Spider-man 3 movie wave. I’m not a huge fan of the direction Hasbro has taken the Marvel Legends line. With their reduction in articulation and dismissal of paint accents, I have lost faith in much of their product. But, this F4 wave is looking pretty good. However, I refuse to buy movie toys, so you probably won’t be seeing good pics of the Spider-man 3 wave here on SuperArticulated. So get over to MarvelousNews if you want to whet your appetite for the figures from the Sandman BAF series.
