Hasbro recently released an eye-catching promotional image of an upcoming figure from their Marvel Legends line. The figure is Spiral, and she’s worthy of her own press release for a variety of reasons. Chief among these reasons - she has six arms and she’s a bit of a D-list character. This seems to be Hasbro’s way of trying to impart to the collector community that they are, indeed, trying to give us what we want. The figure itself is looking pretty good - not great - but good. She still suffers from Hasbro’s weird swivel-style knee joints and is painfully lacking bicep swivels in her (many) arms. But, we’ve come to understand that Hasbro is never going to hit the mark with articulation like ToyBiz/Marvel Toys did. What’s positive about these images is that the sculpt seems pretty detailed and it proves that Hasbro is willing to ‘think outside the box’, so to speak, with releasing some of Marvel Comics’ lesser known and less conventional looking characters. (Let’s just hope they’re not making her a BAF and each of those arms will be packaged separately… sigh…) Presumably, Spiral will be showing up in the fifth series of Marvel Legends. Let’s hope the actual release looks nearly as good as this promo image.
