Hasbro is really committed to saturating the GI Joe 25th Anniversary market in 2008! They have a TON of stuff planned. There will be a lot of 3 3/4″ figures and we’ll see some new 12″ figures as well. Hasbro is giving us vehicles, battle packs, two-packs, single carded figures, mail-in exclusives, etc. With a new movie in the works for 2009, it looks like GI Joe is really poised for a action figure rennaissance! BATTLE PACKS - The first new thing we’ll see in ‘08 are special three-packs that include episode-specific renditions of characters from the classic 80s cartoon. These will each include a DVD that has a collection of episodes that tell a storyline such as Arise, Serpentor, Arise!, The MASS Device, or GI Joe The Movie. The cool thing is that Hasbro is bringing to BAF concept to GI Joe. By buying each set, you’ll get all the pieces you need to build the actual Cobra MASS Device. Kinda neat. Check out the pics.

SINGLE CARDED FIGURES - There’s nothing really new here. Most of these figures have already been announced, but Hasbro states that they’ll be releasing 40 - yes, 40! - single carded figures in ‘08. Man… that’s a lot of little plastic men! See pics here.

VEHICLES - Yay! I’m gonna try to resist these, just because I don’t have the space to display them all, but how am I going to resist a Cobra Trouble Bubble or Serpentor’s sky chariot? Hasbro is putting out a lot of classic GI Joe and Cobra vehicles from the original 80s line to go with our 25th Anniversary figures. And, of course, most of them come with exclusive figures like Cluth and Steeler, sweetening the pot and making them just that much harder to pass up. Check the pics here.
