DCUC… Amazo!
Man, AFI is getting all the good scoops! NY Comic Con is just around the corner (starts tomorrow!) and Mattel is doing a heck of a job of generating buzz by releasing advanced images of new characters to be included in the DCUC line. We just saw Lightray a couple days ago, and now AFI has posted pics of Amazo! I have a feeling that Mattel’s showing at NYCC is going to knock our socks off! I can’t wait!

and yeah, i’m excited too. Mattel and the 4H are doing a brilliant job of balancing heroes and villains so far in this line. and amazo is a great choice!
i’m sure they’ll plug that hole in his back. he’s probably just a hand-painted sample over the DCUC2 supes body.
I agree with Chris S.A. Guy. I have had a little toy-crush on you for a while now. For example, I do not comment on blogs or websites and I have been commenting here a lot recently. I used to go to Action-Figure.com, or Figures.com first (I still go there just not first) but your news is more of what I seek and more up to date and accurate. I eagerly await each new entry and hope its about the toys I want. Keep up the good work.

I know more about Amazo from the recent JLU series and have only seen the real (or should I say first incarnation, comic form, or this particular version) Amazo in comics twice. The instance I really remember is with Batman and it seemed Bats had little trouble handling the situation. In the cartoon he was indestructable and impossible to beat etc. Does anyone know the relative power that the real Amazo has?

All i do is get up in the morning and browse all the major toy news sites then post here whatever i think is of actual interest. which is mostly just the superarticulated action figure stuff. imagine that!
i’m not an amazo expert myself, but i believe his comic powers are pretty similar to what he had on the JLU toon, he just looks different. he’s an android/robot that was built with the abilities of the core members of the justice league.
it’s no surprise that bats took him down easily. bats can take down anyone!

Well, now I don’t feel so bad about passing on that Amazing Androids Amazo back when it was in Five Below stores — this guy looks superior to it in pretty much every way! I think I still prefer the big grey/gold Amazo from the animated Justice League continuity, or even the more wolfish vampiric-looking Amazo from his more recent comic appearances (and the latest DCD figure), but this is still a figure I’d be happy to own. Not one that I’m particularly salivating over, but I’d probably grab him even if I weren’t trying to complete a BAF or something.

I’m not terribly familiar with this incarnation of Amazo either. This figure doesn’t grab me the way some of the other figures have but that has to do with the actual character design, not the quality of the figure. At any rate, we have Lightray and Amazo confirmed now, and many more to come in the following days. Mattel is supposed to unveil the next TWO DCUC waves, so that means we still have 7 more figures and 2 BAF’s to go! Any bets? I want me some Flash action with clip ons like Red Superman for his speed force! I’m also willing to bet we see another female character. Beast Boy would be awesome too, and The Question! Okay, I’ll stop now……

My anticipated figure is after the rest of the Big 7 guys is GREEN ARROW and HAWKMAN! They’d be pretty damn cool!
Man, this line really has that perfect nostalgic Super Powers feeling! Can’t wait to find out what else is in store in the next couple days at the NY comic con!

Hey remember when Toy Guru a couple of days ago said that even now they weren’t 100% sure what they would show at the convention.
I think they read the boards and comments to see what they should bring out first….y’know get feedback to figure out how the line ups going to look at.
I suspect Cheetah will be WW’s villain as with Bats/Penguin, and the other series. I bet a Green Arrow in this style would look awesome.
When I saw Amazo, all I could think was WOW! Is he going to be an actual figure with an upcoming series or will he be a build-a-figure? I can’t wait to see what other figures will be coming in future waves! One idea for a future wave that would be SO cool would be a Flash Rogues’ Gallery wave (Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, etc.). I’d also like to see a decent Lex Luthor, without all the battle armor junk… and we have to have a new Joker that is compatible to the series as well. That short Joker of the earlier Batman Mattel series was a huge disappointment.

Wave 5 Flash, Capt. Cold/Mirror Master,
Wave 6 Martian Manhunter, White Martian
and Dr. Fate, Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Atom (classic and modern variants) in either waves.
Green Arrow, Hawkman, would prob come out next year since he’s an A-lister.
Yes. I would buy all of those.
Huntress and The Question are probably at the top of my “wants” list at this point, but I’m pretty psyched to get a hold of just about anything Mattel wants to throw my way. the 4H really like the New Gods, and for some reason, i have this little voice in my head saying “Kalibak BAF” over and over.
The con coverage can’t get here soon enough!

It’s funny how a lot of New Gods are being made around the time they were all killed off DC. OR maybe that’s why they’re making figures of them…..because they’re going to revamp the New Gods and make New Figures for them. Sort of like the whole Ironman Armor thing in which the toy company and comic company cash in doing different variations of costumes and all.
Yup I can’t wait for coverage at the NYCC. Is it today or Saturday that we’ll be seeing the rest of the figures?

I actually really like the DCSH Kryptonite Suit Luthor, but I’d take a regular one as well.
If they did another Luthor, I hope it’s not a guy in a suit. I hate suit/tux figures with a passion (two face, penguin,lex luthor).
DAMN I was wrong…wow…they went with Ares instead of Cheetah….LOBO for the SDCC!!!!!!! I’m getting that!!!!!!!!!
Wave 4 will include - Cyborg, Batman Beyond, Captain Atom, Wonder Woman and very large looking badass named Ares. The BAF is Despero, who will include several accessories and stands at 8 1/2 inches. Variants will be Artemis and a gold Captain Atom.
There will be a bonus wave of DCUC, available exclusively at Walmart, but not to panic - it will be shipping throughout the year, so it should be easy to find. Mattel is trying to secure international shipping, so overseas collectors won’t be left out. It will be available in the Fall.
The Walmart wave features Amazo, Atom, Riddler (in his business suit), Eradicator and Black Lightening (shaved head version). The BAF is Metallo.
Wave 6 will be available in late Fall. 3 characters were shown - Hawkman (who will have some wing articulation), Superman (in his black suit and hippy hair) and Mr. Miracle.
Coming this August the first wave of Toys R Us exclusive 2-packs will ship. Wave one has Batgirl and Azreal; Light Ray and Orion (with removable helmet).
There will be a DCUC San Diego Comic Con exclusive - Lobo and his Dog! Lobo will have weapons and chains. He will be 7 1/2 inches tall.
GOOD thing they made Light Ray a two pack exclusive….if he was a stand alone character, he’d be a big pegwarmer !!!!!!

I can’t believe they’re making a walmart exclusive line…sigh….more gas money spent. We’re getting an ATOM though…i hope it’s the classic version.

sorry for the multiple posts but i’m way too excited….have to say though….Batman Beyond??? Don’t know about that….they’re mixing comic book characters and cartoon characters?
Batman Beyond has shown up in the comics as a possible future in the dc universe.
Really? I didn’t know that. Hopefully it won’t look so cartoonish. Fryman did you check out the pics? I liked the 1st photos of Amazo but now he looks plain. I might just keep one unopened. They should’ve made his face more evil looking. The METALLO is SWEET! and the only figure in the Walmart exclusive I think is cool is Atom.
It’s funny how Walmart exclusives are like the Marvel Legends Giant man series that had these figures not worth getting (at least for me) but a really cool looking Giant man BAF. The Metallo is definitely worth getting and the rest of the line is “meh”…Eradicator? Blck Lightning? Riddler..(hate suits).
