I’ve added a couple of reviews today. I picked up the new Iron Monger from the Iron Man movie line last night and you can see his pics and write-up in the Marvel section.
EDIT - Got Titanium Man this morning! So you can find him in the Marvel section now too!
I also finally got a hold of the one of the Four Horsemen’s Seventh Kingdom Anitherian Nine figures - The Gauntlet of Vaskkh (the ActionFigureExpress exclusive Rhino). You can see his pics and review in the Indie section.

Uber-talented customizer DDA submitted this little Batman work of art. I have a bit of a soft spot for any/everything Bats-related, so this custom is a knock out of the park for me. In DDA’s own words: “I’ve been a fan of Batman from a very early age and so when I got in to customizing action figures the natural thing to do was to make LOADS of batman figures. The figure that is on show now is my most recent and one of my favorite customs to date.” Nice work, DDA. It’s one my favorites as well! The base is a TBML Face-Off Punisher body with a DCD Hush Batman head with belt and boots from Mattel’s DCSH Batman. When you expand for more pics, you’ll see that DDA has this Bats custom up against a modified Bane with ball hips and an excellent modern Robin custom! If you want to see more of DDA’s work, check out his custom thread at TheFwoosh or his gallery at FigureRealm. (more…)

The DCUC cup runneth over! Unfortunately, I don’t have any info on the whens and wheres, but Kalibak has been revealed as a future DCUC release! I saw this pic on the forums at TheFwoosh, but the individual who posted it didn’t have / couldn’t provide any specifics. I’d wager he’s the C&C fig for series 6, but that’s just speculation on my part. The important thing is… we’re gettin’ freakin’ Kalibak! That New Gods pantheon is gonna fill out pretty quickly!

So, this year’s SDCC is already shaping up to be the most expensive (in terms of awesome exclusives) ever, and now NECA has made things even worse (better) by unveiling a Mouser 3pack from their TMNT line. I’m hoping the pic to the left is an early sort of promo deal and not the final shot. I really hope these guys get done up with some articulation. At least poseable hips, knees, and ankles… and, of course, some working jaw action! NECA has a complete release on these here.

Mattel has released promo pics of all the figures from Wave 4, Wave 5, and the first set of TRU exclusive 2-packs and TNI has them all! There’s nothing here we haven’t seen before, but I still get excited every time I see a new set of pics of these figs. You can see Wave 4 here, Wave 5 here, and the 2packs here. w00t!

I haven’t been customizing much lately, but a friend of mine had requested I make him an Agent X figure, so I dragged out the supplies and whipped something up. And by “whipped something up” I mean “spent about four months tediously doddling with it before it began to take shape…” The base is an HML2 Xorn figure, with TBML4 Punisher boots and a DCSH2 Superman head. The guns came from Hasbro’s 2-pack Cable and all else is apoxie sculpt, leather trim, random fodder pouches, etc. Expand for more pics! (more…)

Wow. Well, when Hasbro commits themselves to milking a license of every repaint possible, they don’t half ass it! As if the four different Iron Man variants (and two different Iron Mongers) we got in the first series weren’t enough, Hasbro has now released images of three more color schemes of the Mark III armor that will be hitting store shelves this summer. I can’t say I’m too excited about any of these. Captain America Iron Man paint job? Did we really need that? MarvelousNews has the pics.

TNI has loose and carded pics of the figures from the ninth series of single packs in the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line. This series includes Joe members Barbecue, Bazooka, and General Hawk, the Cobra Snow Serpent and BAT trooper, as well as a black Storm Shadow repaint called the “Ninja-Ku Leader”. Dang… This assortment is really challenging my decision to drop this line. That Snow Serpent just looks straight up bad ass. Click here for all the pics.

This pretty cool. I don’t how many of you guys customize (or are even into custom figures), but for those of you who are, AFI is putting on a DCUC-specific custom con of sorts. I think this is a neat idea. For years, Marvel Legends have been the go to base for 6″ superarticulated customs, but now that DCUC is coming on strong I’m seeing more customizers start tinkering about with the 4H’s figures. The deadline for entry to AFI’s showcase is June 16th, and the unveiling of all the ubersexy DC customs will come on the 28th of June. So, if you’re interested, time to bust out the paint and apoxy and get at it! I haven’t been customizing much lately myself, but I might just have to dig into the fodder bin and see if I can’t scrape something up for this one. Get all the details here.

So, I’ve pretty much quit collecting the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line, but it continues to roll strong and deliver a lot of great figures to hardcore Joe fans. Hasbro revealed their SDCC exclusive from the 25th Anni line today and it’s none other than Cobra Commander! Because, I mean, the nine versions of him they’ve released so far haven’t been enough! Actually, it’s not that bad. It’s CC In a business suit with a little podium and a microphone. That’s kind of cool, I guess. It’s way better than last year’s “Drag Queen Destro” or whatever that was supposed to be. Check out TNI for more info and a better pic.
