DCUC… Kalibak!
The DCUC cup runneth over! Unfortunately, I don’t have any info on the whens and wheres, but Kalibak has been revealed as a future DCUC release! I saw this pic on the forums at TheFwoosh, but the individual who posted it didn’t have / couldn’t provide any specifics. I’d wager he’s the C&C fig for series 6, but that’s just speculation on my part. The important thing is… we’re gettin’ freakin’ Kalibak! That New Gods pantheon is gonna fill out pretty quickly!

Who else is in Wave 6 again? I’m definitely all about some Kalibak… but DCD is releasing a Kalibak as well in its New Gods line. Granted, it’s nowhere near as impressive as this one and will lack the superarticulation, but I could see going for it in a pinch if Kalibak is the C&C and DCUC Wave 6 is lacking in desirables.
But still, that thing is beautiful.
I hope the hawkman finnaly come to light in that serie, also flash or green arrow or black canary
yes, this is one pretty sweet looking surprise. just when you think you’ve seen everything the 4H guys have up their sleeve, they up the antie. they are truely raising the bar and lifting mattle to new heights mattel hasn’t seen. the only thing i fret on is mattel’s distribution. this can be the nightmare the 4H guys don;t need any more of.
i’m pschyed about this figure. i can’t wait to get a few.
Personally, I’d rather he just be a large but regular figure in the line, like Mongul or Etrigan, with a giant Darksied as the C&C.
With Mr Miracle in 6, doesn’t it make sense that Kalibak would be too?
Oh, and he looks awesome. This is the best toy line ever.

C&C darkseid???? Foolish. Already have a cool one…He really isnt much bigger than the rest of the New Gods…The one already released is perfect scale, i mean he can’t alter his mass like Apocalypse or anything like that…of course Kalibak is similer in size, but he is HUGE in the Bruce Timm Superman Series…maybe they are using that as reference…
Havent seen series 2 in Grand Rapids Michigan either…Mad about that…

P.S. I work at Wal*Mart and Have Seen the Iron Man Movie Titanium Man and Iron Monger 2…They Rock (Although Obadiah Stane looks like a Midget inside the armour…i mean he’s a little out of Scale) But the Iron Monger DOES have Ball Jointed Hips unlike the first figure) …

Hmmmm… lots of interesting comments here. I just sorta jumped and assumed he’d be a BAF since he’s a big guy, but you guys bring up an interesting point. without something next to him for scale, I don’t know how big (this version of) Kalibak really is. Maybe’s he’s just the ‘big guy’ of the wave. i need to know! ha!
Thanks for the heads up on the Iron Man figs, Megatherium. I definitely want that new Iron Monger. My wal-mart is down to two sad snap-on armor figs hanging alone on the pegs, so hopefully they’ll restock soon.
well, toybiz had the hulk line where all the figures were huge, almost busting out of the package. then there is juggernaut, hulkbuster ironman, to name just a few figures that barely fit in the package at the same price as the rest of the figures in the line. who knows? until its side to side with a superman or darkseid, we can only speculate.
Grodd was too realistic and now Kalibak is too cartoonish….I guess it’s the costume design but it looks like a slightly detailed figure of the Justice League toon.
cartoonish? Hmmm… I think maybe Kalibak’s design is what’s throwing you off. If you look at his face sculpt, and the detail in his fur and the shading in the folds of his gloves, he looks every bit as awesomely detailed as any other figure in this line, to me. But I agree that his green bike shorts and big sash and yellow trimming don’t do much to alleviate the cartoonishness of his design. Blame Kirby, not the 4H!
Yeah that’s what I meant not Kalibak himself….his costume is cartoonish. So the overall feel for the figure reminds me of a realistic justice league toon figure.
I’m still getting him to complete my figure sets but the Superpowers version does look a million times better than this thing.
SAG you should pick up the NYCC Mr. Freeze repaint…it’s a lot better looking than the other versions.
Lastly, I really agree with your review on Firestorm. He stuck out like a sore thumb. His colors are horrible….too bright also…like flashlight bright. I took him down my shelf. Here’s hoping for a repaint!
Has anyone ever reasd a Kirby Comic???? All of the costumes are bright and guady!!!! Probably ’cause it is a comic book…heh heh heh…I think he rocks. (Kalibak and Kirby) Maybe the 4 Horsemen should make a Kirby Figure, cause marrvel already made Stan Lee…I need Kirby to Balance it out!!!! (I did get the new Iron Monger) (He Totally Rocks) (No head articulation though, the only misgiving I have) (Titanium Man also is awesome).
I hope that Kalibak is just the “big” Figure and that Big Barda is the BAF…Hoping against hope i guess…probably wishful thinking…Also…Steppenwolf. Needs a figure. (The New God, not the band)…also Mantis, Lashna, Granny Goodness, Forager I, Highfather, Metron (Build a Mobius Chair, anyone?????), basically any character in the Kirby Books…i want them all…and GREEN ARROW. Love Green Arrow.

Yeah but not just cuz it’s a comic doesn’t necessarily mean it should be bright and really toonish. I think there’s all levels of cartoon looking artwork. Like I think Kirby would be at the opposite end of the spectrum to lets say….maybe Jim Lee? I’m a fan of Kirby and old enough to have read a ton of them, but personally, I don’t think Kirby’s color’s and designs match 4H’s designs. His designs seem very two dimensional…with Flat drawn faces and bodies that fit the costumes and style of that era….Jim Lee’s has that squarish detailed look that would fit 4H’s designs which are boxy more current looking designs.
It almost looks like Kalibaks body is based on current designs but what he’s wearing is Kirby based…I guess that’s what’s throwing me off.
Oh well to each his own.
