SDCC HML Savage Land Box Set
Stupid Fwoosh and their stupid access to not-yet-available figures! I wasn’t jealous about their early look at the HML Fin Fang Foom series because, well, those figures are lame. But this Savage Land box set is actually pretty nice. Not perfect by any stretch, but nice. Shanna’s face sculpt is *gasp* attractive! And articulation notwithstanding, that body looks, well, pretty good. Kazar is alright. I wish that they’d worked out the fabric folds in that body before they reused it. But whatever. They’re not THAT noticeable. I guess… Zabu is hit or miss. I like that sigma 6 tiger. I’m just not sure I like it with Marvel Legends. All told, this is one Hasbro Marvel Legends offering that I’m definitely going to try to get my hands on.

I agree with you SAG. The Jap Anime version of Zabu is cool but it really doesn’t fit the marvel Legends style…really don’t know what Hasbro was thinking about that but…their insanity (along with Mattel’s) is no new news to me!
I think I will pick this one up. Female face sculpts seem to be tougher for companies to get right and that Shanna might be one of the BEST face sculpts I’ve seen on a girl! Good JOB on that. Kazar looks pretty cool too.
How much do they go for at the con???
hmmm… good question. i actually don’t know what these will sell for. i was guessing 30 bucks. but it is hasbro, and it is an exclusive, so maybe 35 or 40. shrug. if it’s 40 i might pass. i’ll snag it at 30 or 35 i guess. assuming it’s available at hasbrotoyshop after the con. cuz i aint makin’ it out to san diego this year. heh.
ohhhh! Wow. uhhhhh lol I’d only pay at most $20 for that set. MAYBE $25.
If the line has quality sculpt and paint like DCUC (except firestorm), I’d be willing to buy it for that price and cases of multiples but since Hasbro doesn’t really deserve my money, I’ll pass on this thing.
SAG, by the way, CSC says that the Jason firestorm IS coming. I’m not even going to talk about DCUC anymore till I see the actual products in front of me. Someone doesn’t have their info right, man!
it sounds more like an impulse buy. who doesn;t like to feel the power of forking out cash and purchasing something new? everybody. while this looks good in package, i am usually let down when its out the box. this may not be any different. sorry to sound like a wet towel.
Though not characters that I’m really into, they do look pretty good, though they could use some paint to make them look a little less clean. I mean they do live in the Savage Land….. Anyway Zabu just doesn’t fit in.
That Ka-Zar looks like such a puffter. This box really gets down to how much we’re willing to fork over for Shanna. I was at KBToys last night and they had a bunch of the LCBH boxsets with loin-cloth sportin’ Conan v. that insanely awesome looking Wraal for a mere $10! Swords, axes, metal chains, no lame re-painted Sigma6 tigers. That is a BUY. This is a pass. At least until it hits the clearance bin.
Thats not zabu, is sucksbu… anyway shanna is pretty hot to be a figure look at all those water melons…that i think are painted on the ground of the savage land (sicks bastards, im not talking about the shanna gifts), the kazar looks kinda wierd, i mean… is he wearing a pink flesh pijama or is he naked? he just loose wieght and his flesh is hanging???

Jesus Christ. Have you guys noticed that a lot of deaths have occured this year? At least from my personal life it’s been happening a lot, from workers to celebrities and polititians. More so than other years. I’m pretty weirded out by this year.

No I know that. In fact, I work with seniors have a lot of experience with “death” but on a superstitous level i mean because there seems to be a lot of deaths more so than any past years I can remember. There’s even an article about it that there have been a lot of celebrity deaths in 2008. I’m not usually superstitous but this year is sort of weirding me out. Sorry this is off topic.

The figures look a lot better than the Promo shots…I’ll say that….I’m a nut so i have to have all marvel legends.
