New Target Excl. Marvel Legends Pics

target exclusive hasbro marvel legends red hulk seriesOkay, so we now understand that HML series 4 is a Wal-Mart exclusive wave that comes out in December, and three months before that in September we’ll get series 5 as a Target exclusive wave. Sigh. Anywho, MarvelousNews has new promo pics of the figures from the Target wave and, gasp, they don’t look too bad. Well, Adam Warlock suffers from Hasbro-ticulation but the others are alright. I’m especially digging on Union Jack. Peep the pics.

  1. $10 a pop. Decent looking sculpts and paint. “Exclusive” and will probably be easier to get then MLs exclusive to Walmart. And if you hold your receipt you’ll probably be able to get a price adjustment when they get clearanced for $4.88 three weeks after they hit. Forget FinFangFoom. Bring on the Red Hulk!!

  2. the thing about store specific exclusives is that ‘all walmarts are not created equal.’ there are some that are bursting with goodies, and others that are bust with nothing. i will wait and see what happens, but as far as the figures go, i will let my wallet rest. there is too much good stuff out there. every other day is another expense on my wallet.

  3. As critical as I have been towards Hasbro, I must admit these look decent, however, not many characters that I’m interested in. The only ones that catch my eye are black suit Spidey, who looks great but for some reason neither of his hands are sculpted into the web shooting pose? Spiral looks pretty good, and X-Factor Wolverine caught my attention till I realized that his paint scheme is completely inaccurate. Seriously, compare the figure to this picture:

  4. yeah, i too would have preferred gray accents to yellow…

  5. The only ones I even remotely want are the classic Wolverine and Spiral… though she’d be even cooler in a 5″ scale. Actually, wow… there weren’t this many of the old ToyBiz Spirals available on eBay the last time I checked! Hmm… maybe I only want classic Wolverine. ;)

I agree that the Wolverine in that image looks way cooler than the inaccurate figure. How’d they manage to screw that up — were they worried about people confusing him with Shadowhawk or something?!

  6. Does it strike anyone that most of the figures in this wave are characters that have already been done? I mean, who wouldn’t buy a, if done right, Classic or X-Force Warpath? Jean Grey that isn’t Phoenix? Since the box set version was so bad, how bout Rouge? I’d buy the hell out of a Nimrod to go with my ToyBiz Bishop. Hellfire Club? Starjammers Box Set? Shi’ar Box Set with Lilandra, D’Ken, Emperor Vulcan, Gladiator of the Imperial Guard? I know I’m an X-Men freak but come on, if I can name all of that off the top of my head, and stay within the limit of X-Men Characters, then we shouldn’t be seeing more Wolverines, Hulks, Spider-Mans. I mean why isn’t Red Hulk in the, gee um, HULK line?

  7. Yeah!!!!! Always wit hthe hulks and Spider Men!!!! And WOLVERINE!!!!! I know he is freakin’ popular but all of his costumes are basically the same…little variation (unlike Iron Man, for example)….There is like a Thousand Marvel Characters and we can oly have figures of Hulk, Spiderman, Iron Man, and Wolverine?????????????? WTF???????

*I remember reading in a Toyfare that Jesse Falcon Said that he thought that each wave needed at least one of the anchor Characters (All 4 listed above in my post)….what kind of logic is that????*

I think these figures look sweet, by the way…A Hulk BAF???? Grrrr….Whatever happened to Valkyrie????? Or Blastaar? Or A GOOD Bi-Beast? Or Odin? Or Balder and Lady Sif? Okay…Since thay did an all hulk Line…How bout an all THOR line???? With a BAF Frost Giant Ymir???? Anyone else like that Idea????? Grrr….Hulks a plenty this year…Although Fin Fang Foom looks totally sweet…

Hasbro really needs to start making more obscure Characters, this may create more intrest…Look at DCUC….HASBRO—-TAKE A CUE FROM MATTELL!!!!

  8. Since we are talkin about the Hulk line. My bro found them at our Toys R Us and they had the three that are slated for a fall release, in fact the only ones that they had extras for me were Samson, GreyHulk, and Absorbing man. So I have the three I should not be able to get until this fall. He has all but The End Hulk, Son of Hulk, and She Hulk; does anyone know what the deal is and why we cannot order these online? SAG? Are they waiting to release End, She Hulk, and Son this fall or is there some other big mistake involved?

  9. Also need to point out that the only reason the wolverine sculpt is good is because its the toybiz brown costume wolverine.

  10. When Spiderman had the symbiote atacched to his body he didnt have to make the “web shooting pose”, maybe is for that reason the hands are sculpted like that…. in other hand, i think Hasshit misunderstood the idea of “planet Hulk” so they want to make a whole planet of hulk figures… i just cant help hate this red hulk BAF….

  11. Andrew - The Hulk wave release is a little weird. First of all, Hasbro said these wouldn’t be available until after SDCC… I mean, they’re even selling an SDCC box set. But there are people who have complete Fooms a month before SDCC… No explanation for that.

Also, initially Hasbro said it was going to be two waves of four, but apparently they nixed that idea and decided to release them all together. All eight figures are out there, but there are two different case mixes and each case only has five of the figures. Again, there’s no sense to it. And it seems that any given store is only getting a case or two, so many stores won’t have complete sets… Genius!

    Here’s the case breakdown:

    Case 1
    1 She Hulk (653569291404)
    1 King Hulk (653569291435)
    2 Son of Hulk (653569291442)
    2 End Hulk (653569291381)
    2 Wendigo (653569291411)

    Case 2
    1 King Hulk (653569291435)
    1 Wendigo (653569291411)
    2 Doc Samnson (653569291497)
    2 Absorbing Man (653569291374)
    2 Savage Grey Hulk (653569291398)

So, basically, She-Hulk is 1 figure per two cases. She’s practically a chase figure. And she comes with Foom’s HEAD. Haaaaassbrooooooo!!!!!! **shakes fist**

also, check out this “scale” pic of foom. He’s smaller than both the sentinel and the apocalypse BAFs from toybiz…

  12. So… foom werent supose to be the biggest BAF ever, the reason of the increase of $?????? so this more and more sick….

  13. That Foom pic, posted above, with the other large BAFs is a revelation of the worst kind. Michael Crawford reviewed half the wave already and noted the cheap ass plastic of the FinFangFoom parts. And now he looks like pet lizard next to Galactus. The only Foom in my collection is gonna be the SuperHero Squad one. And thinking on this Target exclusive ML wave, I don’t need another black suited Spidey or another Wolvie. I think I only itch for a BlackBolt out of everything that’s hitting in the next months.

  14. Everyone went crazy over Foom and now look at that picture! A price increase for what? A regular size BAF? Look how crappy Foom’s “paint”, or plastic, looks compared to the detail and coloring of the Sentinel! Out of everything announced from Hasbro, the only things I’m interested in are Spiral, Forge, Elektra/Ronin, Astonishing X-Men Beast, Black Bolt, and Daredevil.

  15. Sometimes, I don’t understand what everyone is complaining about. I mean atleast we are getting figures made! I remember when rumors were going around about ML ending altogether, so I’m glad atleast something is being put out.

  16. well… our complains are bassically these:
-lots of repaints and character already done for toy biz
    -horrible distribution
-really bad sculpts and paint jobs
    -price increase
-fake publicity, when you see the real thing you want to puke
    -half line go exclusive
-so on…you can put your complaining reasons here…
    hasbro go hell!!!!

  17. By the way, i really was hopping that the line were closed… and relaunch by other toy companny that wasnt hasajoke

  18. Well, sadly, Hasbro has the marvel license until… what is it, 2011? So, it’s hasbro or nothing at all until then. The fact of the matter is, things will never be like they were with ToyBiz again.

  19. Your right, our complaints shouldn’t be justified, except for the fact that DCUC exists, and at the same price…….

  20. Hey, I’m by no means saying our complaints aren’t justified. I’m as staunch a Hasbro critic as they come. But, I’m just accepting that no amount of griping from the collector community is going to change things. Hasbro only cares about the bottom dollar and there are enough people out there buying their crappy figs that there’s no reason for them to improve things. Sigh. aaaand… double-sigh.

  21. I’m really bummed out about Hasbro’s take on Marvel Legends. When I first heard Hasbro was taking over the line, I had a bad feeling that the Marvel Legends series that I knew and loved was going to take a nosedive… and I was right. Since Hasbro took over, Marvel Legends totally sucks! The articulation is bad and the sculpting on most of the figures is awful. Not to mention the figures being produced stinks too (I mean, how many more variations of Wolverine can we have???) It’s time to end Marvel Legends and let it die with what small bit of dignity it has left.

    DC Universe Classics Rules!!!
