Hellboy 2 Series 2 Promo Pics

hellboy 2 series 2 wounded hellboy action figureTNI has promo pics up from the second series of figures from Mezco’s movie line for Hellboy II: The Golden Army. We’ll be getting a coatless Hellboy, a wounded Hellboy, Princess Nuala, the legless Goblin guy, and the freaky looking Angel of Death. These figs all look pretty great, but I have reservations about the articulation. Fewer statues, more superposeable figs, Mezco! Also, sadly, these aren’t due out until November, which is too long of a wait if you ask me. Anyways, check the pics here.

  1. this is ridiculous. when did hasbro start looking better than mezco on joints? instead of pulling gold if mezco used hb1 movie figure joints, they are stooping to mcfarlane toys level. who would want a handicap troll instead of a golden army robot or bedtime story warrior? i do’t get it. maybe its me, but putting out a princess and angel without elbow joints? huh? and november? can mezco think ‘timespan betwen halo 3 series 1 and series 2 = loss of interest.’

pass for me. my wallet is glad. one less line to spend on.

  2. yeah. i agree. as crazy as i am about some hellboy toys right now i think this entire wave is gonna have to be a pass for me. bummer too, because i would have loved to pick up some of them if they were more… action oriented. that shirtless HB is alright, but he doesn’t really have seem to have an “incentive” to make me want to buy him. I’m not feeling the plastic sleeves / pleather coat combo on wounded HB either.

Yeah… why not golden army figs? or a more-articulated version of the prince in his black and red ensemble. or abe in his cool full-body black jumpsuit? shrug. i just feel like an opportunity is being missed here.

  3. Why not give wounded HB the old full on pleather coat? It would be a must have for me if you could remove the full coat! Dangit Mezco! Still love them though.

  4. They should’ve given battle-damaged Hellboy a full cloth/pleather coat. It really makes no sense to make one without sleeves. From this line, I want Nuala, black coat Hellboy, and maybe the Angel Of Death (Not sure about the $40 price tag)

  5. Mezco has to pay for liscensing royalties. Hasbro does not. Hasbro is part of a multi million dollar company. Mezco is not. What Mezco pays out to obtain a movie liscense takes out of the cost to produce articulation (or separate pieces). Plus…most “collectors” do not even take the toys out of the package anyhow. So the 26 guys who do remove them are probably the only guys never satisfied with the lack or articulation.

  6. What you said makes sense BUT I think there are more who take them out than keep them in. At least from what I’ve seen.
