The Dark Knight Movie Discussion

Well, it’s time. The big one hit theatres today and I figure we’re gonna need a place to discuss the sheer awesomeness of The Dark Knight in all its Batman vs. The Joker vs. Harvey Dent vs. Two-Face vs. The Ghost of Katie Holmes awesomeness. In a summer chock full of superhero movie awesomeness, this is really probably the one to stand triumphant above all the rest. I say, bring it on.

Forum Type Thing

I’ve installed a simple bulletin board at http://forum.superarticulated.com.

If you guys are bored and you want to register and play around with it and see if you can break it, that’d be cool. I’ll put more time into it later (when I have time) but for now I figured I’d just throw it up there and let you guys help me figure out if it works or not.

Thanks!

More Fun with Hellboy!

superarticulated.com loves mezco’s hellboy action figuresI know, my Hellboy obsession is getting a bit ridiculous. But I can’t help it. These toys are just all too awesome and I just can’t stop playing with them (and buying more and more of them… ). I geeked out this evening and took some silly “candlelight” pics of my favorite figs. I figured I’d share ‘em with you guys. Expand to see them all. (more…)

Chronicles of Narnia Aslan Review

chronicles of narnia prince caspian aslan action figureOur good friend Wes, the owner, proprietor, and witty progenitor of pop-culture megazone Scary-Crayon.com has come through for us with a guest review of that neato-looking superarticulated lion from the Chronicles of Narnia toy line. I’ve eyed this thing in the toy aisle many a time, wondering with what figures I might stick it (a beast to train for Kraven, perhaps?), but I’ve always passed it by. Now that I’ve seen Wes’ review, I’m gonna have to pick one up. Expand to post to see what Wes has to say! (more…)

Hellboy II Movie Discussion

hellboy II 2 the golden army movieThe new Hellboy II: The Golden Army movie opens today and I figured we’d need a place to talk about the presumed awesomeness of it. I know most of you guys are Marvel or DC nuts, but hopefully there’s a contingent of you who even if you’re not terribly familiar with the comics can appreciate what Perlman brings to the Hellboy character and how much fun Del Toro seems to be having directing this franchise. Hellboy FTW!

The Incredible Hulk Movie Discussion

the incredible hulk movieWell, it’s been another slow week for toy news and The Incredible Hulk opens today so I figured I’ll put up a place for us to talk about it. I’m pretty psyched, probably even moreso than I was for Iron Man. I’ve never been a big fan of the Hulk as a character/hero, but I dig Ed Norton and from what I’ve read he learned from the mistakes of the disastrous Ang Lee Hulk movie and just made this a two hour action fest of unmitigated violence and carnage! Anyone seen it yet? Hulk Smash! w00t!

Iron Man Movie Discussion!

iron man the movieJust because this a toy site doesn’t mean we can’t still talk about other things from time and time and Iron Man the movie is something I can imagine us having quite a bit to say about. It officially opens today, and with this film’s cast and it’s uber-awesome director, I can’t see it being anything short of spectacular. So, let the discussion begin!

2008 NYCC - MOTU

king_grayskull.jpgI’m late posting about this, so I’d imagine it’s “old news” to many of you. But, the Masters of the Universe cat is officially out of the bag. The rumors were true - Mattel and the Four Horsemen are resurrecting this property and bringing a collectors-focused mass-market MOTU line to retail next year. Oh yes. No word yet on who exactly we’ll be seeing in the first wave of “Masters of the Universe Classics”, but I’d wager He-Man’s a sure bet. And since this is a collector-oriented line, it won’t suffer the ill fate of the 200X MOTU line that was plagued with nonsensical He-Man repaints and terrible distribution. Hurray for Mattel and the 4H! And oh yeah, that sexy half-naked barbarian to the left is “King Greyskull”, this year’s SDCC exclusive. Hawt.
