Even More Iron Man Repaints!

new hasbro iron man the movie toysWow. Well, when Hasbro commits themselves to milking a license of every repaint possible, they don’t half ass it! As if the four different Iron Man variants (and two different Iron Mongers) we got in the first series weren’t enough, Hasbro has now released images of three more color schemes of the Mark III armor that will be hitting store shelves this summer. I can’t say I’m too excited about any of these. Captain America Iron Man paint job? Did we really need that? MarvelousNews has the pics.

GI Joe Wave 9 Carded Pics

snow_serpent_02__scaled_600.jpgTNI has loose and carded pics of the figures from the ninth series of single packs in the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line. This series includes Joe members Barbecue, Bazooka, and General Hawk, the Cobra Snow Serpent and BAT trooper, as well as a black Storm Shadow repaint called the “Ninja-Ku Leader”. Dang… This assortment is really challenging my decision to drop this line. That Snow Serpent just looks straight up bad ass. Click here for all the pics.

AFI’s DCUC Custom Showcase

afi dcuc custom showcaseThis pretty cool. I don’t how many of you guys customize (or are even into custom figures), but for those of you who are, AFI is putting on a DCUC-specific custom con of sorts. I think this is a neat idea. For years, Marvel Legends have been the go to base for 6″ superarticulated customs, but now that DCUC is coming on strong I’m seeing more customizers start tinkering about with the 4H’s figures. The deadline for entry to AFI’s showcase is June 16th, and the unveiling of all the ubersexy DC customs will come on the 28th of June. So, if you’re interested, time to bust out the paint and apoxy and get at it! I haven’t been customizing much lately myself, but I might just have to dig into the fodder bin and see if I can’t scrape something up for this one. Get all the details here.

GI Joe SDCC 2008 Exclusive Revealed

sdcc exclusive cobra commander gi joe action figureSo, I’ve pretty much quit collecting the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line, but it continues to roll strong and deliver a lot of great figures to hardcore Joe fans. Hasbro revealed their SDCC exclusive from the 25th Anni line today and it’s none other than Cobra Commander! Because, I mean, the nine versions of him they’ve released so far haven’t been enough! Actually, it’s not that bad. It’s CC In a business suit with a little podium and a microphone. That’s kind of cool, I guess. It’s way better than last year’s “Drag Queen Destro” or whatever that was supposed to be. Check out TNI for more info and a better pic.

Superarticulated… Alien!

aliencomp4.jpgSo, now that we’re in the era of making every action figure as poseable as possible, we’re seeing a lot of interesting properties pop up with superarticulated figures - like the recent TMNT and BSG and Ninja Gaiden figs and what-not. And now NECA has busted out with a super-poseable Alien figure that stands 9″ tall and boasts 20 points of articulation! I’m pretty darn impressed with this thing. NECA is fast becoming one of my new favorite toy companies! See more pics at NECA’s site.

Superarticulated Updates

I picked up The Dark Knight Movie Masters figs this morning and have pics and reviews up in the DC section.

I also (finally) updated the TMNT post with pics of Raph and Don. You can see those here.

And I got a hold of the variant modern Aquaman from DCUC2. I’ll be adding him to DCUniverseClassics.com some time today (whenever LunarPages decides to let me connect to the server. heh.)

Iron Man Movie Discussion!

iron man the movieJust because this a toy site doesn’t mean we can’t still talk about other things from time and time and Iron Man the movie is something I can imagine us having quite a bit to say about. It officially opens today, and with this film’s cast and it’s uber-awesome director, I can’t see it being anything short of spectacular. So, let the discussion begin!

More DCUC Waves 4 & 5 Pics!

dcuc artemisNope, still no pics of Hawkman or Mr. Miracle, but Action-Figure.com has posted a couple of new galleries of Waves 4 and 5. Wave 4 is Wonder Woman, Artemis (variant of WW), Batman Beyond, Cyborg, Captain Atom (w/ gold variant) and Ares with the Despero BAF. See great pics of those here. Wave 5 (Wal-Mart exclusive) is Eradicator, The Riddler, Black Lightning, The Atom and Amazo, with the Metallo BAF. Those pics are here. It’s been a slow news week, so I figured I’d link these up since I know we’re all pretty psyched for the upcoming figs in this line and you can never ogle enough production pics of new toys! So… enjoy!

Hulk Legends Packaged Pics

hasbro hulk marvel legends hulk figureMarvelousNews has posted high-res pics of all the figures from the upcoming Hulk Legends waves (both 1 and 2). I have to admit, while Foom is pretty solid looking as the BAF, these all seem, well, kinda crappy to me. Maybe it’s just that my Marvel Legends enthusiasm has soured and the price tag on these ($15 msrp) has really turned me off to them. Shrug. What do you guys think?
